Question: Should I buy a smith machine on which I can easily do all my weight training?
I have some difficulty with just free weights especially because I use weight that is rather heavy for me (especially after reps) and have no one to spot me. The bar on this smith machine has controls in case I want to drop it, etc.; safety thing.
Yet, I have read that using smith machines can be bad for one's back, etc. as smith machines do not go with one's true body movement.
Please advise before I spend $800 on this. It's a classified ad (used machine; but in awesome condition, so I have to make up my mind within a day or two)...
It comes with quality benches (flat/incline/decline), weights; every exercise I would need to do (many now I cannot; such as the shoulder press or leg extensions/curls due to lack of equipment). The machine has a pulley for the back workouts one for tripects work etc. The bench changes into one to do leg work on. Also comes with a carpet and 2 10X10 impact pads as well as an ab cruncher and delivery.
Is this a good price ($800) for this equipment?
I think this is a "Body Solid" brand. I may have this wrong though.
;o)
Please advise soon!!
