i had to go to the doctor for my mandatory senior year checkup, and while i was there i asked the doctor about the pain in my back that was mentioned in my other post. he said that is it a pulled muslce because its more to the side.
its been hurting for alomst a week now, and i am taking this week off from training to let it heal.
my question is are there any stretches, exercises, postural positions while sitting or sleeping, or anything else i should do to help this heal as fast as possible and prevent future muscle pulls?
thanks

As far as sitting, sleeping, and such...make yourself as comfortable as possible. Quality rest is important.

Activity is determined by symptoms.

If it hurts, don't do it.

As you return to activities, progress load, speed of movment, impulse, range of motion, etc. based on feel. Again, if it hurts don't do it so heavy, so fast, or so far.

I would be doing as much moving around as you can without increasing any pain or soreness. Complete rest is rarely necessary.

Figure out what you can to do without pain and do it. Oftentimes, pain is not an "injury" but simply related to muscle spasm.

Try yoga. I've been dealing with back pain for years and recently found that most of what I've learned in PT is yoga type stretches.
