When I do pull ups, there is a slight pop in my shoulder. There is no pain associated with it, it just feels like I am lowering and there is a slight hitch, then POP, and the motion continues normally.

Is there any reason for concern?

Possibly. How do you perform your pull-ups (hand grips, width, body angle at the top)? When exactly does the POP/hitch occur. Where is your arm (not your forearm) in relation to your body?

It might not be anything, but I suspect it has more to do with your pull-up form.

It could be many things. Form and/or ligament strength is probably your best bet, though. Muscles can gain in strength faster than connective tissues, thus causing an imbalance. The popping noise could just be a ligament snapping over bone if it's not strong enough to support the load you're lifting. Of course, that could also apply to poor form. We can always take a look at your form in about 3.5 weeks when you arrive in Little Rock.
