My shoulder surgery was 14 weeks ago and I'm still having pain through certain ROM's. I'm thinking that I shouldn't still be feeling this way more than 3 months after surgery. Any opinions?

Sorry. I had SIS fixed by removing the portion of my acromion that was hooked. I'm wondering if I've built up enough scar tissue that I might still be suffering from a milder form of SIS.

Bill, could you look at my shoulder when you're in Little Rock for JP's retreat? I'm planning on attending the event as well and was wondering if you might have some time to do some ART on my shoulder. My pain is still on the high side today, and is gradually increasing as the morning wears on. I've just called my surgeon and got an appointment to see him on Wednesday. When I had my right shoulder operated on 3 years ago, I also experienced an abundant accumulation of scar tissue, prompting a 2nd surgery to remove it. I'd like to avoid surgery number 2 on my left shoulder if at all possible.

Actually, come to think of it, do you think you might have time to work on BOTH shoulders? My right has been mildly bothering me lately too. Probably just sympathy pains....

I'd be happy to pay your fee for the ART sessions, if at all possible.

Thanks!

Jamie

I've already had more than my fair share of post-op follow-ups. My last one was 1/5/04 when my doc released me from his care. He told me at that time that I was free to start strength training again as long as I did so very slowly, which I did and am still slowly regaining strength.

However, I've taken 2 weeks off from the gym now -- one week for a trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras and last week because of a sinus infection and bronchitis. The thing that's worrying me is that the longer I've been out of the gym, the worse my shoulder has been feeling. Prior to my "rest period", I was waking up about one morning in 7 with a sore shoulder. The last few days it's been waking me up at night and is always sore in the morning. I'm getting worse and I don't like it one little bit!!
