Last night this football player was lifting in my gym. He was squatting about 300 lbs. when the ligaments and tendons supporting his knee gave way.

The weight, still on his shoulders, caused his knee to buckle to the side, and forced his fibula and tibia to ride up next to his femur as the weight collapsed his leg.

All of which leads me to my point: In the words of Clint Eastwood--"A man's got to know his limitations."

Just 300 pounds? So was it a compound fracture? That sounds really awful! Poor kid.

I don't know that the bones broke so much as cut loose and slid up alongside the femur...I get sick just thinking about it....

That really is a sick thought. It is quite possible he won't ever use that leg again!
