I have been having shoulder pain for about a year, I rest it for a couple of months but the pain always seems to come back. It ocurred after shrugging one day, while shrugging I heard a crunch noise. Since then it has not been the same. Do you recommend something that I could do, so that I could get back to lifting weights again. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Pain of that duration and recurrance needs to be checked by your doc. If your doc has no ortho experience get a referral to an orthopedic specialist.

So, how about a dull sort of pain radiating around the medial deltoid? I have a lot of weakness all of a sudden, and could,'t even touch my benching norms today. Any ideas on the cause, or maybe the treatment?

I had similar problems with my shoulder, I spent some extra time working on my rear deltoids (very important and often overlooked), traps and rotator cuff (light and last in your workout) and it has helped alot. The one thing I will caution is to start with very light weights and if it hurts, stop....

The weakness could be pain inhibition. The stabilizers will shut down to protect you from further injury. In other words, something is going on.

First rule...stop doing what causes the pain.

Second rule...RICE

Third rule...when painfree, come back slowly observing the "Statute of Fitness Limitations" (see the post by the same name)

Fourth rule...if symptoms persist get it checked out ASAP.
