Default Persistent tendon pain inside elbows

Since I started the NROL programs I have had persistent pain inside my elbows. It is at the bony part on the inside of the elbow and just to the forarm side of the bone. I figure it is some sort of tendonitis. It was at first only the left side, but now is both. I have not lifted for over 3 weeks, but the pain is still there. It especially hurt when I tried to do chin-ups, but even hurts to pull a door open.

Any advice on what this is and what to do about it?

Sounds like medial epicondylitis. Try a forum search and see what you find. Usually responds to stretching and eccentric rehab exercises.

Yep, that's sure what it sounds like. Thanks. I think it was the assisted chin-ups that caused it.

Well, it's been over a month since my last post above, and I still have the pain. I took a few weeks off from lifting, but I was also moving at the time so I was lifting boxes and furniture and not completely resting. For the past few weeks I've been doing NROL Strength 1. I'll finish it in a week and then take a week or two off from lifting, but I'm wondering if I should take more time off to let this heal completely before it becomes some chronic problem. I really hate to stop my lifting program, though.

And did you find the rehab protocol on here for it?
Did you do it?
Are you doing the stretches for it?

Yes, I have been doing the stretches plus some other forearm and hand stretches, and they do help somewhat. I also massage the sore area, which helped the patellar tendonitis and achilles tendonitis I had in the past. But the pain and tenderness is still there.

For some reason I seem to be prone to various tendonitis, and they always take a very long time to heal.

I also have the pain you describe. It is chronic for me. I think it is related to arthritis in my case. Glucosamine has improved my elbow condition by 80% or so. I will have some soreness after lifting weights, pushups, etc -- anything where the elbows are under stress. With my knees and elbows it is a constant balance between strenghtening my muscles and not beating up my arthritic joints.
