Default Book Recommendations for Spotting/Treating Injury?

Hello

I am looking for people's recommendations for books on identifying what muscles are actually causing soreness and what motions might be causing them, and some low risk manipulation or stretching treatments that might help.

I am simply an enthusiast and not looking for anything that would enter the realm of a real treatment for a serious injury, just some massage/stretching suggestions for soreness.

I know kinesthesiology books like "Kinetic Anatomy" cover the basic human motions and which muscles they are related to, but not how to treat them or identify activities/imbalances that might be making them sore.

I have just found more often than not myself/partner have short to medium term soreness or stiffness and it is not always obvious why or what to do. I would like some more foundation to ask good questions of professionals or to determine earlier when it is actually time to go to the physical therapist.

You might find the Trigger Point Therapy book useful for some of those issues.

I have now researched trigger point therapy and it looks like this is exactly the sort of thing that I want. Even if it is only partially evidence based, there does not appear to be anything that is more evidence based. And it looks like this is the technique that my sports therapist used back in Oregon.

Travel & Simon two volume set seems to be the definitive work in this area. Is it very accessible or more for someone who has done LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist) training?

Claire Davies' books seem to get good reviews as well are these the ones you were suggesting?

The Finado books about "Informed Touch" seem to be the other big ones in the genre.

Any comments, experience or recommendations on these different books over each other?

btw thanks LisaS for pointing me in this direction!

The Davies' book(s) are the ones I have seen spoken highly of.

I am not a trainer or massage therapist, just a regular person who is also interested in these things. I picked up a book called Treat Yourself to Pain-Free Living by Julie Donnelly and it has helped me a lot with muscle soreness, plantar fasciitis and other minor sports ailments. You can check out her website: www.julstro.com.
