Default Hip Flexor Pain??

Hi,
I am new to this forum and did a search to see if my issue is listed but could not find it. I have been doing NROLW since January and am currently in ph 4.

1. When did the pain begin? Tuesday June 9th
2. What were you doing at the time? Or did the pain come on gradually over time? I had done 4B1 and felt great but the BSS were tough after not doing them for a bit during Ph 3. The pain came on gradually and was intermittent after the workout. It felt like a tendon or something was caught in my hip and I needed to pop it. I would try rotating my femur up and out (laterally) but that did not make anything pop or help in any way. I tried to really stretch my hip flexors but none of that has helped. I took advil and then did my 4A2 w/o on Friday. It felt fine during the workout and seemed to get better but my hips felt really tight. I stretched a lot before and after the workout and even did a stretch between sets of the static lunge. Then later that day when standing and twisting, or standing w my wt on one leg and turning a bit, I had a very sharp pain that made me yelp. I could then not put wt on my right leg. It took a few moments to move my hip around a bit then I could walk again. It feels like a tendon or something is getting caught when my hip rotates left to right or right to left.
3. Where, anatomically, is the pain? I can't press on anything and get the pain. It is in my right hip area quite deep. It feels like it may be the sartorius or something in that direction but deeper.

4. What does the pain feel like? Sharp? Dull? Aching? Stabbing? Shooting? Sharp when it gets caught, but a dull pain when sitting. Doesn't bother me sleeping or when i lay on my left side.

5. Is the pain constant, or intermittent, or only on certain motions? The stabbing pain is intermittent and occurs when standing w wt one one leg (my left) or standing and twisiting my torso. I can w/o on the elliptical but begin to feel soreness in the area after 30 min. Rested it all day yesterday and it does feel a bit better. Am very hesitant to lift again for a while.

6. What motions make your pain worse? I have learned in 2 days to avoid that motion of standing asymmetrically and twisting. I think lifting makes it worse especially BSS or lunges w rear foot elevated. When I tweak it, it hurts to walk for a bit, then gets better after a few minutes. When doing a lunge w RFE or BSS, I feel tightness in my right hip so I go slowly at first. Once I have completed one set, it goes a lot better.
7. What, if anything, makes your pain better? Not lifting, NSAIDS, rest. Haven't tried ice because it seems so deep.
8. Does your pain radiate to any other part of your body? not really--very much in the hip/groin area.
9. What things could you do before, that you cannot do now because of your injury? Am cautious now doing everything. I could literally fall down when this sudden pain comes on unless I have something to grab onto.
10. What is your main concern regarding the pain and its consequences? I think I have some sort of tear or am starting one to a tendon or muscle. Not sure how best to proceed. Want to make it better so I can workout and lift again. Also want to know how to prevent it in the future.
11. Have you ever injured that part of your body before? If so, how? No never.
12. Is your pain getting worse over time? And if so, how much worse over what time period? After it first started huring on Tuesday, I focused on stretching more before I lifted again--just thought my hip flexors were tight. But, lifting on Friday definitely made it worse after lifting---got through the whole workout fine and had some personal bests with weight.

thanks for your help!

Do you own a foam roller? Or a lacrosse ball?
