Default Shoulder Surgery and ART

Hello Everyone, I had shoulder surgery on 3/11/09..bone spurs, some clean up and a dislocation were performed. I have been playing tennis for 36 yrs and fell in love with lifting in my early 40's( just turned a very young 51). I am left with a loss of cartilage in my shoulder...I did 4 weeks of PT and now have just started ART therapy. Does any one have an experience with ART?

I have also re started NROL( I did it last year)..I have started with the Break In workouts. Donot laugh but I am only using 12lb now for the DB presses. I am going to start the Fat Loss I after one more week of the break in. The reason I am doing this is because it is heavy on the lower bod. Before my op I was doing Strong Lifts..

I look forward to posting more on here...and getting to know some of fellow NROL'ers...any comments or suggestions would be most appreciated.

Larry -

I started experiencing shoulder pain back in 11/07. I tried ART in 01/08 and then again (with a well-known ART specialist) in 05/08. Didn't get anything out of it, so finally went the surgical route in 07/08. Chondroplasty and labral debridement.

Still no improvement come 10/08, so I gave ART one more try. Again, no pain relief. Self-myofascial release (foam/tennis ball rolling) didn't help either.

Just my personal experience. A lot of people I respect rave about ART, but it did absolutely nothing for me.
