Default L5-4 Bulging Disc - Degeneration

I just went to a doctor with back pain. It turns our that is is just a bad sprain and I will have to take some time off from doing back exercises.

I got a MRI in the process of trying to find out what was wrong with my back. The MRI shows that the cartilage between L4-5 is degenerating. and L5 has a slight bulge. He called it a mild degenerative diffuse bulging disc. The doctor said both of these are nothing to worry about and related to age.

I was wondering if there are ecercises I should avoid doing? I mean will it still be safe for me to do deadlifts and good mornings? Are they rehab type exercises that will help to strengthen my back to keep it from getting worse?

Thanks

Honestly, there is a lot to go into here.
If you have DDD, then you really should see a physical therapist in person to learn proper stabilization exercises, proper posture and body mechanics, specific flexibility exercises, etc.
