SI Joint injury from Hamstring Stretch?
Hi Bill,
A few months ago I did a right hamstring stretch with my pelvis forcefully anteriorly rotated (to maximise the stretch) and felt a small pain in the region of my right si joint.
It was slightly painful for a few days then settled. Since then it has inflammed a few times from bending and now it is quite painful and is radiating pain down by right buttock and thigh. It is very painful to walk / sit for long periods.
It is particularly painful when sitting and I actively anteriorly rotate my pelvis and again in the same spot when I posteriorly rotate my pelvis.
My physio did some pa mobs on my right PSIS and I felt only minor discomfort, but on the afternoon and for the next few days the pain was intense - with pain when sneezing. Previously to this she also did a manouvre where she rotated my illium from iscium (in the same was that a hamstring stretch would distract it) and this was also painful later (but not really at the time).
Do you think that this could be an SI joint problem?
Many thanks for your time,
Richard
