I've tried taking a picture of the elbow a couple of times (I'm in a lounge at the college), and I'm sure people think I'm strange enough... so I'll do my best without a picture.
1. When did the pain begin?
A couple of weeks ago.
2. What were you doing at the time? Or did the pain come on gradually over time?
The first time I specifically noticed it I was shoveling snow. Not the light kind, but the heavy wet kind.
3. Where, anatomically, is the pain?
In the right elbow area, looking at maybe the anconeus muscle.
4. What does the pain feel like? Sharp? Dull? Aching? Stabbing? Shooting?
Sharp
5. Is the pain constant, or intermittent, or only on certain motions?
It's only on certain motions. Primarily when I straighten my arm, doesn't matter if I'm holding anything or not. In fact, for whatever strange it's almost worse when I entend it holding no weight. Although I did notice it this morning carrying my bag in to the school (laptop/books/lunch/water... kind of heavy). I basically ended up switching it to my left hand.
6. What motions make your pain worse?
Straightening the arm (ie. completely straight, but only at full extension). Long periods of keeping the arm bent (typing, writing) seems to make it more painful when extending it.
Doing single arm movements (dumbbell snatch, etc.) does increase the pain to sharp / stabbing at times, even backing off and using lighter weights - ie. 35-lbs.
7. What, if anything, makes your pain better?
Nothing really, heat helps, but only while applied.
8. Does your pain radiate to any other part of your body?
No
9. What things could you do before, that you cannot do now because of your injury?
Not really affecting anything, but annoying.
10. What is your main concern regarding the pain and its consequences?
Why it's suddenly started, and why it won't go away.
11. Have you ever injured that part of your body before? If so, how?
Yes and no. A few years back I did something to my left elbow at work. Lifting a driveshaft component I'd been told not to lift with one hand. It took months before it was better. (No, I didn't see anyone about it, but to be fair I was out of the country for 5 months... and by the time I got back it was fine.)
12. Is your pain getting worse over time? And if so, how much worse over what time period?
It really does seem to come and go. It seems more off and on. I forget about it until I straighten my arm and then it's a sharp pain. It's probably better than it was a couple of weeks ago when I would get pain shaking the salad dressing and such.
