Default Shoulder Injury and long term aftermath

If you read my log you will see references to a swimming injury years ago, that manifests itself still if I do not do some cable or band exercises that mostly are aimed at my upper back muscles. Typically I could go a week without problems.

Starting a few months ago it began getting more acute, to the point that I could not sleep at night. I sleep on my side generally and it was always the upper side that hurt so badly. I simply could not position that arm such to take the pain away. I could not go more than a few day without doing the exercies, no more MagMob, no time. Finally they were the only warmup exercising I was doing, and if I didn't do them at home on days off - PAIN. Starting a week ago even that quit working. Heavy use of Alleve, sleeping pill, and I was considering using some of my two year old codeine, in fact did in the middle of one particularly painful night. Oddly enough I also could not sleep on my back - it seemed that my shoulders would drop just enough to cause exquisite pain.

I had replaced my PC with a laptop, and moved from the computer desk. It was about 4 inches lower than a dining room one, designed and crafted by me for comfort. After I got the labtop I moved to the common room/kitchen to take advantage of all the sunlight and views. Finally I suspected the new positioning of the arms and shoulders for the time I read all newpapers, blogs, email on line. I called a local furniture store and asked if they had bar stools four inches higher than dining room chairs. They did, I went down, picked out one and brought it home.

The first night no difference - but by the second and third night the difference was HUGE. I think I have it figured out, and thought it likely that other people could face the same thing.

Thanks Julie - an odd thing I always knew that getting up would make the pain go away, even could do my heavy workouts and use the computer without pain, I just dreaded getting tired and having to go to bed.
