Default Pain in hip flexor? I think...

1. When did the pain begin?
A couple weeks back.
2. What were you doing at the time? Or did the pain come on gradually over time?
Came on gradually
3. Where, anatomically, is the pain?
Left hip flexor area. Right where the leg meets the torso. In front of body.
4. What does the pain feel like? Sharp? Dull? Aching? Stabbing? Shooting?
Dull and aching.
5. Is the pain constant, or intermittent, or only on certain motions?
Constant.
6. What motions make your pain worse?
Movement. Especially db stepups to bench height.
7. What, if anything, makes your pain better?
Icy/Hot and ibuprofen combo.
8. Does your pain radiate to any other part of your body?
No.
9. What things could you do before, that you cannot do now because of your injury?
It's causing my db stepups to be real painful. Any movement during the day, when I don't have icy/hot and ibuprofen.
10. What is your main concern regarding the pain and its consequences?
Dude, will it get better?
11. Have you ever injured that part of your body before? If so, how?
No.
12. Is your pain getting worse over time? And if so, how much worse over what time period?
Yes. Slightly worse daily if I don't take/use anything.

Sounds like a psoas injury. They can be slow to heal because they are hard to rest completely. I would stay away from anything that elicits pain and see a PT for some rehab help.

Yes ... and

1. Are you doing any foam rolling, stretching (static or otherwise), mobility work?

2. When you say it hurts to step up, is that on the part where you lift your leg up to the step or when you raise your body weight onto that leg?
