Default Spinal Stenosis

Mr. Hartman: I have been diagnosed (MRI) with spinal stenosis of the lumbar region. The doctor wants to do a decompression laminectomy and put in screws and and rod. I am in good health and 68 years of age.
Do you think that there are physical therapy exercises I could do to see if I could build up my core strength, et cetera, and maybe avoid this surgery? I live in the Nashville area. Respectfully, Bill
