Default Slipped on ice fell on knees

1. When did the pain begin?
Last Friday

2. What were you doing at the time? Or did the pain come on gradually over time?
After I slipped on ice in a parking lot and did an extreme lunge and fell on one knee

3. Where, anatomically, is the pain?
It is above and below my kneecaps on both legs
Looks to be like Vastus Medialis and Vastus Lateralis and Patella ligament

4. What does the pain feel like? Sharp? Dull? Aching? Stabbing? Shooting?
Dull above the knee and aching. Can be sharp with certain movements. Feels like three is something moving over my knee ( can't find the anatomy) sometimes the knee that didn't go down does this.

5. Is the pain constant, or intermittent, or only on certain motions?
Going up and down stairs getting up from chair. Squats lunges
Step ups are fine until later. Which I think is normal.

6. What motions make your pain worse?

Squatting down and kneeling (sharp pain)

7. What, if anything, makes your pain better?

Standing and lying down LOL!

8. Does your pain radiate to any other part of your body? No.

9. What things could you do before, that you cannot do now because of your injury? Squats and lunges

10. What is your main concern regarding the pain and its consequences?

What kinds of leg exercises can I do to finish out my NROL4W.

11. Have you ever injured that part of your body before? If so, how?
One knee slipping off of went flip flops and twisting wrong carrying drywall. Just wrenched them slightly. Healed fine in about a month

12. Is your pain getting worse over time? And if so, how much worse over what time period? Just happened.

Kelly, I would rest them for a week. Just do mobility work, focusing on quad and hamstring flexibility and hip mobility. Be sure to ice the knees. Then start back in slowly (ie lower weight, reduce reps/sets, etc).

Thanks Julie.

That is exactly what I have been doing. Resting them. Now I don't feel guilty that I have been lazy!

I have been reading about how you help these people here. You are an awesome woman for doing so!

I am sure it will be returned some way some how some day .

Again, thanks!

I'll be sure to do some mobility and stretching.
