Default Trochanteric Bursitis

Hi,

Has anyone here ever dealt with this? I am currently dealing with an acute case. I went from 100% functional to excruciating pain in the space of a few days! Very frustrating... especially since there is no readily apparent cause.

Cheers,
Adam

What makes you think it's trochanteric bursitis? Just the location of the pain?

Many things can refer pain to that area of your hip ... and if there was no direct trauma, or you didn't go out and run a marathon, then trochanteric bursitis wouldn't be my first guess ...

I had a conclusive diagnosis from my chiro. He and I were both surprised...

At this acute stage we are doing periodic ultrasound, ice/rest, topical NSAID and celebrex from my doc. It has improved about 60-70% from its most inflamed state about 5-6 days ago.

Cheers,
Adam

I've treated TB similarly ... sounds like he's on the right path ...
