Default no full ROM yet after ankle sprain

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping that someone can help me with the problem I'm having. If I stand about an arm length from the wall, stand upright, and try to use the knee to touch the wall, I am seeing a very different ROM between the left and right knee. If I bend both knees toward the wall, my left knee is behind the right one by about 3 inches.

I sprained my left ankle pretty badly (grade 3 ankle sprain) about 4-5 months ago. I have to go through theraphy to strengthen the ankle, and now everything feels fine except that lack of ROM.

If I sit down, straighten my leg, and move the ankle toward my knee, away from my knee, outside and inside, both ankles have the same ROM. What is causing the left one to not be able to bend that much? How can I fix that? Thanks!!
