Default Subluxing Ulnar Nerve.

Hi,

I wondered if you could offer me some advice on my elbow/arm pain please?

1. When did the pain begin?

About a month ago. Been weight training for about 12 months.

2. What were you doing at the time? Or did the pain come on gradually over time?

I noticed it when I flexed my elbow with my elbow resting on a table.

3. Where, anatomically, is the pain?

Iin my hand and medial aspect of elbow

4. What does the pain feel like? Sharp? Dull? Aching? Stabbing? Shooting?

Aching pain in elbow and hand and tingling in hand

5. Is the pain constant, or intermittent, or only on certain motions?

Intermittent.

6. What motions make your pain worse?

Particularly bad with repetitive flexion of elbow.

7. What, if anything, makes your pain better?

Rest.

8. Does your pain radiate to any other part of your body?

No.

9. What things could you do before, that you cannot do now because of your injury?

I lift weights at the gym, and have trained my arms or pressing movements for a few weeks - don't want to injure myself.

10. What is your main concern regarding the pain and its consequences?

That i cause damage to ulnar nerve resulting in weakness / wasting.

11. Have you ever injured that part of your body before? If so, how?

No.

12. Is your pain getting worse over time? And if so, how much worse over what time period?

Worse just before stopped training arms.

----------------

Being lifting weights for about 12 months. First time I noticed it I was sitting at the dining table with elbow on the table. I bent my arm and had shooting pain like hitting funny bone. Now, if I do any repetitive elbow flexion, for instance drying hair with towel, I get tingling and pain in elbow and hand. If I do dips etc, i can feel it popping out.

When I get to about 90 degrees of flexion, i can feel the ulnar nerve (with my other hand) pop out of its groove.

I have been doing triceps stretches (no change).

Any help / advice / information appreciated,

Thanks for reading and regards
Richard

If that's actually what's happening, then you need to see a surgeon.
