Default Leg pain

Hi, I have a pain in both my legs it is located on the shins about 1/3 to 1/2 teh way up If I had to pick a point it would be right where that muscle (muscle on front of ankle not the calf) starts to buldge when you flex it. It happens almost immediatly when I start running any distance
A while back I use to be able to run almost a 1/4 mile before this discomfort and I took a while off (< 1 year) came back and the pain came back quicker so I went to Disney World (litteraly) where I walked a lot and when I came back I could go a little bit longer without. Now when I run I get the pain ratherly quickly
Is this a shin splint or my body just trying to get accustom to running
Right now around the college campus I probably walk 1.5 to 2 miles per day
The pain feels like something is being pulled out
When I try running on my toes I think I am doing better I have been able to make trial runs around a 1/11th mile track with the only problem is me being out of breath but other times I only get halfway and the pain come in quick

Only other things I can think of is I have falling arches

So, you might actually have a compartment problem.

Or...one of 4 other things.

Do you get the pain if you repeatedly flex and extend your ankle while sitting with your legs straight?

No, there is not any pain when I try that, but my co-workers think I went crazy

Also, not sure if it makes any difference but I am 5'10" 250lbs with unusally strong legs right now without doing any training I can still leg press over 700lbs and I can do a standing 1 legged calf raise of my own body weight about 20 times without tiring. I had a job where I stood on 1 leg for a while on a legde (instead of getting in and out the machine) for 20+ minutes a while back

What is a compartment problem

So, I take back all the stuff about the compartment syndrome.

This is possibly one of those things you need to see someone who can assess you in person for--like a doctor, or a physical therapist.

Thanks for the help
I have actually been looking at compartment syndrome and since it happens to both legs, I kind of doubt that is it. I am wondering if I am just out of shape and the impact of me running is causing the problem
Hopefully I can try a few more things when I can get to the gym and see what helps

Well I kind of narrowed it down it is only on my right leg right now the pain is on the inside of my lef about one hand's width above my ankle bone
There is no swelling that I can tell or any discoloration
If I press on it I can feel some discomfort
The pain can radiate out to my big toe or up to my knee at times (only happened 3 or 4 times)
Mostly it is just a dull ache

You mentioned your leg press and calf raise movements. I am curious as to what kind of training you do in general both in resistance and aerobic work.
