Default Help with Adductor Injury

Need ideas how to help with this injury. Pain made worst by squatting more than 100 kg. Currently icing twice daily, doing general stretching of the adductors.

1. When did the pain begin?

Back in December appeared to get better almost unnoticable, now after 3 weeks on the russian squat routine it has flared up agin
2. What were you doing at the time? Or did the pain come on gradually over time? Can not remember a specific acute injury appeared after helping someone move.
3. Where, anatomically, is the pain?
inside of leg close to groin, I think its one of adductos
4. What does the pain feel like? Aching
5. Is the pain constant, or intermittent, or only on certain motions? specifically bad squatting below parrallel with loads over 70% of max
6. What motions make your pain worse? dont know if squating makes it worst but possibly
7. What, if anything, makes your pain better? being warmed up good, ice, heat
8. Does your pain radiate to any other part of your body? no
9. What things could you do before, that you cannot do now because of your injury? Can do everything could probably squat 100% of max just not pleasant
10. What is your main concern regarding the pain and its consequences? Getting it better to compete in weightlifting on the national level ASAP competting at collegiate nationals in mid april

11. Have you ever injured that part of your body before? If so, how? nope
12. Is your pain getting worse over time? And if so, how much worse over what time period? possibly getting a little better with ice, rest, and heat. I worry that i have been stretching it more after the start of the russian squat routine i wonder if this could exsaterbate the pain.

Right now I have modified my routine to do only the power versions of the o-lifts and changed my squatting to be below 60% of max or less depending on pain. I have been doing heat and ice. And stretches.

Sounds like exactly what I'm dealing with (my initial pain came during a squat routine). The only thing that has helped was a prolonged period of time off until the pain subsided. Things I've done since then though are some lunges, stretches, and medicine ball squeezes. All have helped strengthen the muscles some.

Be very careful with this though, if you do strain it again it will take even longer the second time around to heal.

My suggestion would be to skip everything squat related (or that produces the pain) for a week and do some light body squats or 50% weight etc towards the end of the week to see if the pain returns and adjust accordingly.

Do you have an athletic trainer on campus that you have access to as an athlete? Could be a hamstring or could be an adductor ... best to have it looked at by someone especially since you are competing and you don't want this to interfere with your training or competition.

Anyone else experiencing this I found I have inflammation of some of the tendons that connect to the pubic bone. PM me if you have the same problem and need reccommendations. I would say this diagnosis can be made if the pain is felt very close or on the pubic bone.
