Default Delayed onset of injury??

Anyone ever heard of a delayed injury? I'm not sure what happened. I went to my kickboxing class and admittedly worked out very hard but the only pain I experienced (other than a lot of muscle soreness and muscle failure) was a kink in my neck/shoulder which I managed to work out while I was there. No big deal.

Then tonight I was watching the Inside/Out DVD (which I received today along with MM) and got up to try some of the exercises and again, no pain. But then when it was done I stood up and holy cow, my foot is just killing me. I can hardly walk on it right now, the top outside edge of my foot is very sensitive and painful and even my knee is starting to throb a bit (which I attribute to my foot). I'm hoping that sleep and motrin will make it feel better because this is not cool at all.

But the part that baffles me is the fact that it didn't hurt in the slightest bit until a couple hours after my kickboxing class. Anyone else ever experienced this?

Well after I wrote that message last night it got a little worse. I was in excruciating pain while trying to go to sleep. If I accidently touched that part of my foot or even bent my foot back it would hurt like crazy.

So this morning I got up at 4:30 to go to the gym but it was still hurting and I knew there was no way I could just hobble around the gym even though today was primarily upper body work.

But now it is feeling better and I can actually walk on it. It is still sore and does hurt a little bit when walking but nowhere near how it hurt last night. Makes me wonder if this is somehow just extreme muscle soreness or what. At first I thought maybe an ankle sprain but there was never any pain in the ankle, just the soft tissue on the side of my foot. So we'll see how the rest of the day goes....

No, none of that. It's almost back to normal now....just a little sore. I think I could probably jump with that foot now but I haven't tried it yet....

Quick update....foot seems to be fine now and I even went to my kickboxing class again tonight. And thinking back today, the only time I remember any pain in my foot is when I jumped out of the ring the top of my feet hurt for a second but I just walked it off and was fine.

So I really have no clue what happened but I sure hope it doesn't happen again.
