Default Hernia question

I know an inguial hernia is usually seen by a lump where the thigh meets the groin area. If I feel that area, there are lumps there (not really visible) on both sides. Does that mean its a hernia or arent there glands or something there that everyone has?

You're probably feeling your inguinal lymph nodes. Could be inflamed from infection, STD, or even a brutal lower body session. And some people just have more prominent nodes. Are they tender to the touch or when you walk?

The hernia is more likely to be felt poking through the inguinal ring by palpating up through the scrotum.

Yeah I think you are right. Ive always had these bumps or nodes...it is tender to touch and bothering me this past week. I first noticed this last week when doing leg raises...thats why I dont think it (or want to think) its a hernia because it didnt bother me from doing squats or deads or anything like that. I also feel it a little in my lower abs...maybe I strained or pulled something...not sure. The nodes might be a little tender or someting...cant be an STD, but could be from a rough lower body session.

It's never a bad idea to get palpable and tender lymph nodes investigated by your physician. There are more sinister things that can cause positive lymph nodes other than an STD or lower body workout.

Ok- I went to the doctors...he checked everything... no hernia..he said the node is a little swollen, but doesnt believe its cancerous. I trim/shave around that area, and he said this causes infections of the nodes sometimes. He put me on an anti-biotic and said I should be good.
