Default Shoulder pain (propper injury report)

Shoulder pain
1. It begain at my shoulder maybe 2-3 weeks ago
2. While doing the jerk part of the clean and jerk.
3. The pain is in the lateral deltoid.
4. Its like a shooting pain when i catch the jerk.
5. Its just in the jerk, i can feel it a bit sometimes if i just move my shoulder around too, and if i do external rotationes i can feel it, but it doesnt hurt half as much as when i do CJs.
6. Jerk
7. cant think of anything that makes the pain better
8. pain doesnt redirect.
9. I still do Jerks, but i cant catch the bar so far behind my head,
because thats mainly when the pain occures.
10. That i wont be able to do jerks.
11. not that i can remember, no.
12. Hasent gotten worse, has gotten a bit better since it first started actually.

I dont get any pain from doing snatches, push press or military press.

Sorry about the other thread, i dident read the sticky before that. heres more info about it, just ask if you need more.

What about pain during lateral raises? Can you put your finger on a single point that hurts?

pain during lateral rises is minimal.. actually, i dont even know if its "pain"
the shoulder does crack, spechally if i rise it above my shoulder level.
It seems to only hurt when i do things that involve the rotator cuffs alot.

However, during lat rises i do feel something, it doesnt exactly hurt, but its something there, feels like its inside my lateral delt.
Do you want me to take a picture where i put my finger on it?

So, basically, the pain is only from catching (i.e. the eccentric part) of the jerk? I'm a bit at a loss for why you wouldn't have pain during the eccentric part of the military press. How about resisted external rotation? You may have just experienced a very minor strain. If it's getting better, then try a typical return-to-normal protocol--decrease your load by 30-40% and gradually work your way back up.

yeah its weird. i think its because when you catch a jerk you kind of catch it behind your head, as oposed to when you push up a military press you keep it in front. I tried a wider grip on the jerks and it seemed to help, the pain is almost completley gone now. I also noticed when i rolled a tennisball against my rotator cuffs that there were quite a few knots there.
