Default Cracking The Rotator Cuff Conundrum

Hello. I am currently on the Cracking The Rotator Cuff Conundrum routine and I had a couple questions. Eric or anyone who feels qualified to answer please do. I have two upper body days (Max Effort and Dynamic Effort). I do the routine on my Max Effort day(the first upper body day of the week) and I was wondering what kind of shoulder work if any should I do on my DE upper body day?

I wasn’t sure were to put this here or the training discussion. So if this is the wrong place feel free to move it

Granted, I havn't looked at the actual program in awhile, but you may be able to split the conundrum routine in TWO and do half on ME days and half on DE days.

But if you make a conscious effort to include a healthy dose of rowing in your assistance work, that alone will work wonders as far as shoulder health is concerned.

Careful with the DE work BTW. You're young and "relatively" new. Just doing regular repetition work would probably suffice. At the very least, make sure to cycle the DE work (especially if your using bands).

For a second, I thought that Tony was reading my mind. Then I realized that he's my roommate and has probably read my response to the same question a few hundred times, so I guess it's not too surprising that he hit the nail on the head.

Split it in two.

And, FYI, if I had it to write over again, I'd use DB Cuban Presses and use a side-lying external rotation instead of a low pulley external rotation (better EMG activity of the infraspinatus and teres minor).

I was already using a side-lying external rotation instead of a low pulley external rotation because I don’t have a low pulley machine

I’ll change over to DB Cuban Presses. I will also split the routine in two.

As for the rotating of DE days, I was thinking about it and might do it. Right now I rotate bands and no bands. I might also rotate in a repetition day like Joe Defranco uses in WSSB

There's no reason you can't do both DE and reps in the same session. I'm a firm believer that everyone needs to learn how to lift fast.

I like DE because Explosiveness is one of my weaknesses. I will probably end up continuing what I am doing until I can get my hands on your off season training manual

You know how women who live together get on the same "cycles," right?
