Talus Strain?
About 2 wks ago, I was doing a clean and it slipped off my shoulders and landed on my thigh, causing my leg to bend more than in my deep squat position. Basically my knee went over my foot moreso than usual, but there was no bruising and no inflammation when this happened.
I was able to o-lift afew days later but not squat or lunge as usual. I can get into a deep position but I have to sit back a little more than normal. My knee can go over as far as it normally wants to with the exception for about a 1/4 inch where I reach my point of stability. I got some ART and my guy said that the joint under the talus may have been strained resulting in some inflammation under the bone. He released a few shin muscles that were tight and tugging on that area, and Ive been RICEing for a week.
Ive gradually gotten better, and I squatted 315 for an easy double yesterday. Im able to move my foot into that previously strained positioned and instead of a sharp pain, its a bit duller. I was able to clean but Im noticing that if I my feet rotate outward more than 30 degrees on the catch, things can get tweaked easier when I pass 100kg.
My questions are: 1) how long does it take for this thing to heal, and 2) is there anything that I can do to strengthen the joint and expedite recovery? I was thinking about getting a wrap for that foot so that I dont have to worry about tweaking, but I wanted some other opinions.
