In highschool during a wreslting match I broke my clavical(sp?) at the sternum and it ended up beeing pushed in 5 mm and healed that way. I was told attempting to reset it would do more damage than good and it would still end up healing stronger than it was before. This was back in id like to say in early Jan of 2004. Since my recovery I have had no problems aside from the occasional soreness if i slept on my left side. Strangly after a year of backyard tacklefootball, extremely intense and heavy weight trainning sessions, when I decide to take 2 weeks off and get back into it on a cutting phase using signifficantly lighter weight with stricter form I find myself in pain. I think I have have reinjured it, and it is beyond me how. The symtoms inclue sorness where the indentation is where the bone meets the sternum where it healed in its akward place and a clicking sensation occationally in that side of the chest but I cant pin point where i feel it, just a vibration through my chest and only occasionally. I am kinda worried that I migth be facing a long layoof in my prime right now. unfortunately i wont be able to see a doctor untill I go home in trwo weeks to get my wisdom teeth yanked and even then im not sure if ill be in the shape to go through another MRI. Does this sound serious? Also I decided to continue my lower body workouts and just use light weight on my upper. When I first broke it I was allowed to lift after a week or two but just lightly but avoid all contact sports. Just curious if i am at any serious or immiediate risk by doing so while I await my doctor visit.
I just recieved a phone call from my mother and i might be able to get an apointment tues or wed in which case ill have to drive home to get it check out, i think I will just take the week off just in case.
Probably for the best, Steve. Hope you can get the appt with your doc. It would be good to get it checked out ASAP. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Its gotten alot worse, and more painful in the past few days. i have an appointment on wed and am probly looking at another 2 hour mri. the place on the bone where you can actually feel the pat that is shoved in has now dramatically changed(or maybe i am just fixating on it). but if you run your fingers down both bones, by the time you make it to the middle of my chest you will get chills. And with the risk of it breaking further and going inwrds slicing everything in its path such as major arteries(reason why i sat my senior year on the bench afterwords) has me very worried i might not be in the gym for a long time comming. Im getting very worried and i am counting down the days till my visit.
I had to leave work after two hours today, my left arm is useless in a job where i lift boxes all day, i got my appointment moved to tomorow morning so i am packing my bags to drive back dow n south soon. wish me luck.
so I had my MRI this morning. I have my follow up on wed so I will know what the deal is by then. The next day I get my wisdom teeth out. Not going to be a fun week. The gym is just looking miles n miles away at this point, im starting to lose it.
update. if anything sounds weird im sorry, im alil drugged up, i just had my wisdom teeth yanked about 2 hours ago. The mri results came back, no fracture or dislocation. Lots of inflamtion n the tendon is pretty badly sprained, normally i would get a shot but sice its so close to vital stuff i cant touch it. basically i gotta just rest it and startlifting again pretty soon to strengthen up my upper body to help protect everything. but heavey bench presses are pretty much out of the equation for gnood now.
