Default Oats in recipes - quick or old fashioned?

In various protein bar or pancake recipes that call for oats, does it matter if I use quick (1 minute) oats or the old-fashioned (5 minute) kind? Not really sure what the difference is if its dry and blended.

Quick/1 Minute oats are just smaller from steaming and rolling them more than the old-fashioned ones. They are both whole grain and previously "cooked" by steaming.

Either will work, but quick will be more tender in your protein bar or pancakes. I eat them raw, as cold cereal, and just find the old fashioned ones more chewy.

If you're blending them until they are no longer pieces, then it makes no difference.

Cool, thanks. Ive never tried eating them raw before, sounds interesting. I was going to make Johnka's oatmeal raisin protein bars from this link:

Johnka's oatmeal raisin protein bars

It calls for half blended to flour and half raw. I have some quick oats on hand so I will probably just try it with them.
