Default Ham steak recipe?

I'll be the first to admit that I don't do much with pork outside of big Hams and pork chops.

I was digging around in my freezer and came across 2 pkgs of "Ham Steak" and I really have no idea what to do with them. I've found a few recipes, but nothing that really looks worth the time to make it. Should I just fry em up and use them in a Ham n Cheese?

Anyone have ideas for me?

are they the ones that run about 1/2 inch thick? Those are good on the BBQ with some sauce (I like a sweet/sour or tomato BBQ sauce - but growing up we used bottled Russian Dressing as a baste on ham slices). Like hot dogs, your only going for char and smoke and heat through since they are fully cooked.

Not sure if they're cooked or not, but it won't take much to get them cooked through. Some BBQ sandwiches sound good!

Never heard of the Russian dressing approach, I may give that a shot!

oh it will be a salty (ham) sugary (dressing) festival then - but pretty good for end of summer grilling when you're over steaks & ribs & chicken & burgers
If you like the brown sugar/mustard glaze on a big oven baked ham, you'll like those flavors on the grill too, just watch that the sugar doesn't burn.

If it's still in the package, look for the words "fully cooked." I'd guess at least 75% of the hams you'll find are fully cooked.

Lisa's suggestion sounds good. You can also use maple syrup + mustard glaze.

My mom always did a honey-mustard thing with ham-steaks. It's awesome
