Ever seen this?
HELL YEAH TUNA SHAKE BABY !!!!

Some are kind of gross, but some are good. I like tuna w/cottage cheese. I also like some tuna salad with a lot of veggies like chopped up onions, bell peppers and whatever else you like. Then you can get a bigger portion for not too many more cals.

Look at any of the flavor profiles here at g'day gourmet I've tried all of them except the lemon-pepper one. Amazingly, they were all good with the tuna. I would think they'd all be doable at home with some spices or sauces, a little oil to carry the flavors and unflavored tuna - especially if it could sit for sometime to take up the flavors. You can always drain off any excess oil from your experiment.

I'm more likely to make tuna burgers than tuna salad. Got something to write with? It's a little complicated:

1 can tuna (in water), drained
1 egg

Mix. Toss into hot, greased skillet. Flip when bottom is firm enough to hold the patty. When patty is firm and not squishy, remove from heat. Garnish as desired (works as a "burger" or a "steak"). Voila.

^^^^ Yeah, that!^^^^

If I'm needing some carbs I do grind up 1 piece of whole wheat bread in the silver bullet and add that and some minced onion. But, I prefer it this way than out of the can for salads.

I lived with a roommate that used to eat what he called tuna omelette's. He'd scramble up 2 eggs with a quarter can of tuna. I've seen him eat it with and without a piece of toast for a quick breakfast/brunch. Haven't ever tasted it before so cannot comment on that part.

OK. It's just that the answers might be different if you were looking for lower-fat options vs. just don't like mayo or even "allergic to eggs".

Hope some of the things mentioned helps you out.

Miracle whip, Dijon-style mustard, balsamic vinegar, cream cheese, hot sauce, relish... not all at once of course :-)

You can try finding a few large tomatoes, make a hole at the top and scoop out some of the seeds/liquid. Make in a separate bowl-albacore white tuna, salt/pepper, cucumbers chopped up small, pickles, green/spring onions finely chopped, a little cottage cheese or yogurt. Toss all that around.. add a few drops of spicy mustard in the mix if it needs a kick. Start stuffing the tomato with the tuna mixture. When done, clean the tomato up for persentation, drizzle balsamic dressing over the top (olive oil and basamic vinigar w/salt and pepper + maybe a touch of dijon). serve stuffed tomato over a bed of greens and you have a yummy tomato tuna veggie delight!

I've personally tried the Tuna omelette. It is really good! I also add yogurt, celery, and onions if I'm eating it in a sandwich with Ezekiel Bread.

Yeah.. I like that also! Tuna is my favorite if it's mixed with egg! Tastes really great!

If I'm making tuna salad I sometimes use a couple tablespoons greek yogurt or sometimes a couple tablespoons of spaghetti sauce or salsa or just balsamic vinnegar.

Then depending on my mood & what I have around I might chop & add some of these: green onions, tomatoes, spinach, cucumber, green pepper, pico de gallo from the deli.

As far as spices I often use curry powder, Penzys Spices "Sunny Paris" spice mix, or Adobo seasoning.

That sounds great, I can't believe I havent tried tuna patties yet! Could be my new favorite... Fav at the moment is tuna with red wine vinegar, dijon, spring onions and chilli flakes (or fresh chilli) - Great on a salad or in a sandwich.

Hint:
patties turn out great if you mix can of tuna + 2 eggs + 1/2 cup of rolled oats + lemon pepper + 1/2 cup grated cheese. Since you are on a gain program these should be good for you

Tried this last night. I also added some lightly sauteed onions and peppers. I treated like a crab cake with the tuna taking the place of the crab. Very tasty!

try fresh tuna instead of canned - all it needs is salt

making your own mayo might change your mind, add fresh herbs to it like basil or tarragon etc

edit, I just read that mayo makes you sick - what is it about it that makes you sick?

I like tuna mixed with a little bit of honey mustard and curry powder, or a little lemon juice and Greek seasoning - I generally do one of these if I'm going to put the tuna on a low-carb wrap with LTO. If I want more of a meal out of just tuna I mix a can with 2oz cottage cheese, some diced red onion, Penzey's southwest seasoning, cilantro, and diced avocado.

Wow. I just tried an adaptation of Galya's recipe, and it was fabulous! I didn't add the oats, b/c I'm trying low carb. I used a 7 oz. can tuna, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup grated cheddar. It was too sloppy (probably b/c no oats), so I added another can tuna, garlic powder, salt/pepper, dried dill. Fried it on stove in three patties, and I wanted to eat all three at one sitting it was so good!

The proportions were all wrong with a 5 oz packet of tuna and a large egg, so I added in some cooked quinoa as binder. Two thumbs up!
