Default Cinnamon Toast Oatmeal

I always loved cinnamon toast growing up. Still do, but I don't find it satisfying or filling, so I don't really eat it. I've often put cinnamon in my oatmeal, so today I tossed in some butter, too. It was really good.

1 C dry rolled oats
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (mine has 30g P)
1 packed Splenda
1 tsp butter, minimum (I think I used 2 tsp)
cinnamon

Cook the oatmeal and then stir in the powder and Splenda. Get it to the consistency that you like and sorta smooth it out in the bowl. Put the butter on top and sort of swirl it around so you have a nice layer of butter. Sprinkle cinnamon on top.

If you're watching calories, you can stir some Butter Buds or Molly McButter into the whole thing, but for me, it's the salty sweet, buttery layer with the cinnamon on it that takes me back to that toast. Good stuff.

Bacon is good... maybe with some maple syrup? Mmmm...

Actually, I use maple syrup all the time. Or raisins and cinnamon. Dried or chopped apple or applesauce and cinnamon. Banana slices. Peanut butter. Peanut butter and banana. Brown sugar. Chicken. Cinnamon and brown sugar. Raisins and brown sugar. Maple syrup and brown sugar. Cocoa powder. Vanilla extract. Blueberries. Raspberries. Blackberries. Strawberries. Just butter and sweetener. Just sweetener. Shredded coconut. Milk. Coconut milk. Milk chocolate. Chocolate milk. Yoo hoo. Candied ginger. Oatmeal served by a girl named Ginger. Oatmeal served by a girl named Candy. Oh! Dates are good. With cinnamon. Or, after a date with a girl named Cinnamon for that matter. I love oatmeal.

I tried the recipe this morning. Yum
I modified it to include 1 cup cooked oatmeal, 1 scoop casein, 1/2 tbs butter. Still tasted great!

Another tip: vanilla extract. I put several drops of this in most of my oatmeal creations, as it seems to make it richer.
