Frozen bananas
Uh... I think I screwed up. I bought some bananas in the hopes of creating that awesome sounding shake that LostDog posted about. However, having never frozen a banana before I froze them in the peel. How do I peel them now that they are frozen? Or, are they ruined if I try to thaw them?

You'll probably gouge them a little trying to get the peel off, but if you're using them for shakes, who cares? I usually peel mine, cut in half and put on a plate in the freezer for a few hours before putting them in a baggie or tupperware. They don't usually stick together so it's good.

You have two options: peel them with a knife or defrost them a little in the microwave until the skin comes out easily and then use them or freeze them again in a bag.

Hey, all I did was cut them into chunks and the peel came right off. No problem.

Alongside bananas, I have to give the nod to frozen mango as well. Pretty de-freaking-licious! Lovely with some berries, cottage cheese, plain yogurt and vanilla protein.

I have done this recently actually. Try slicing the banana in half lengthwise, then you can "break" the peel loose all along one edge, and it should peel off pretty easily the rest of the way.
