Default traveling man

Hello everyone. I'm new to this site which i found through the fitcast. Here is my situation. My job has me traveling 5 days/week. I usually have access to a microwave and refrigerator and i travel with my blender. I need to add variety to my diet. Does anybody have good microwave recipes? How about healthy options at restraunts? I travel in Texas...so i have plenty of bar-b-que options.

Good question and welcome.
One idea is the selections from Lean Cuisuine spa meals and the new Kashi frozen meals. Both are relatively high in protein and complex carbs. Would you carry a cooler in your trunk or be able to stop at grocery stores?

Restaurant choices are difficult. Applebees has entrees from weight-watchers including tallipia and others. Red Lobster has a nice selection of lighter preparations of seafood. Most restarants have a good steak or grilled chicken option it's just all the other stuff and the portion sizes. It amazes me how pathetic the vegetable situation or the lack there-of is at many restaurants. You have to put effort into getting a decent vegetable besides iceberg lettuce and a baked potato.

I prefer grocery stores over restraunts...i'm just getting tired of the deli meats and whole wheat bread. I've pretty much have had access to a refrigerator in my hotel room, so a cooler is not really needed. What about mail order diet programs? Does anybody have experience with them? I guess i could have them mail directly to my hotel of the week. I know the zone diet has some programs like that...

Lean cuisine and kashi idea sounds good...i'll look into them. thanks.

Rotisserie chicken(s) - as chicken w/vegetables, chicken over green salad, BBQ chicken wraps, chicken w/salsa, cheese, etc as a wrap, chicken reheated with marinara & mozzarella, all sorts of things with just a microwave & a fridge.
Some stores have cooked turkey breasts & meatloaf & pork loins just as they do rotisserie chickens.

Meat + veg + salad = dinner in my book with cheese, nuts, avocados for variety

I used to stop at grocery stores and pick up those cocktail shrimp rings that have the sauce included on the way back to my hotel room. No mess, no fuss, and I could snack with one hand while I worked from my hotel room.
