Default Do you ever...

...just experiment with food. I went in the kitchen a second ago looking for a snack. I put two eggs in a pan and while it was heating up I sliced half an avacado.
Scrambled the egg. Added some salsa to the avacado, mixed up all three and tada...awesome.
Three minutes and done. And it was really good. I will be doing that again.

The day before yesterday I made crab cakes and used wheat germn instead of bread crumbs.

Yesterday I made a brussels sprout chicken stir fry.

Both were TERRIBLE. I mean awful. The CC were so bad I told my daughter she didn't even have to try hers....

On another note, I LOVE to experiment with food, and most of them turn out pretty good...or even GREAT!

Like my fish and mango on whole wheat wrap.

Sure, doesn't everyone?

A lot of times it's just a matter of wanting to make something that you normally make with X Y and Z but you're out of Z. So you swap in some A and throw in a bit of B for good measure. Then you find you like it even better.

Somethings, like crab cakes, are hard to safely alter. Not a cheap meal to experiment with either. I use crab and egg for mine then put them in the fridge for a bit to set up. They usually fall apart. The easiest thing to do is get a bushell of crabs, season with Old Bay, steam, then eat.

For b sprouts. Steam until just done. Pan saute roast some pecans then toss the sprouts into the pan, shake a few times until the sprouts start to brown. If you're not handy with a pan you can use a little butter to help them brown.

My ex used to experiment, some of the stuff was horrible. She'd take perfectly good veggies then put them in a pan and cook until brown. Ugh, stir fry doesn't have to mean burned.

I LOVE brussel sprouts, either sauteed with pepper and balsamic or olive oil, salt, and lemon juice. YUMMMMMMMMY.
