Default Use those "hidden" ingredients

I used to throw them out. Now, I use them.

Pepperoncinis gone? They're packed in vinegar. Tasty vinegar. Use it for dressing.

Marinated artichoke hearts. Tasty. Packed in oil. If it's not olive or canola, put it back on the shelf and keep shopping, but if it is, use that now flavorful oil to drizzle on veggies or salads.

I bought a huge bottle at CostCo. Marinated in canola oil, which usually is tasteless. Not after these hearts have been marinated. It's delicious. Don't waste it.

Pickled herring.

Just kidding...

Pickled herring, a favorite. Although I never could get out Scandinavian exchange students to try it out. It ranks right up there with pickled pig's feet.

Costco mozzorella cheese comes with a great oil I used for salads.

I like herring, I'd just never use the liquid for anything.

Same with pickled eggs or those pigs feet you talk about. Pig knuckles, too.

With hooves, how do they have knuckles, anyway?

Pigs don't have hooves. Do they?

I eat pepperoncinis straight from the jar. I love them. Don't forget olives in the list of jared-goodness.

Yep. Hooves.

Olives are tasty. I don't think the liquid is too good, though.

Just wish Costco herring was done with Splenda, there is a lot of sugar in it, but sure tastes good. Maybe I would use it post workout

I JUST bought a bottle of the artichoke spread

if you don't mind the carbs...hollow out a loaf of bread and fill it with

sliced provolone or mozzerella cheese

and a relish of this stuff
sun dried tomatoes (in oil)
roasted peppers (in oil)
artichokes
pesto
parsley (chopped up)
olives (chopped)

or if you want, use the relish as a topping for sliced cucumbers. ohhhh god it's good.
