Default Seasoning and flavoring raw broccoli.

I can't eat cooked vegetables. I never cared for the texture and in broccoli's case, cooking brings out it's latent nastiness.

Well, broccoli is still kind of nasty raw, so can someone share a seasoning or flavoring for raw broccoli?

Dip it in salad dressing.

Sometimes I buy these bags of shredded brocolli (it's labeled brocolli slaw) and add homemade coleslaw dressing to it.

I prefer my broccoli cooked -- lightly steamed, so it's still bright green and absolutely not mushy at all, with just a pinch of salt. Overcooking REALLY makes it nasty. If your idea of cooking it is boiling it until it's olive-drab green and squishy, I'd urge you to try steaming.

For raw, I usually add it to a salad, and use vinaigrette (olive oil, red wine or apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper, perhaps a bit of dijon mustard).

I am one of those people that believes in eating what you like. Why choke down something that is nasty to you. Are there other veggies you like better and can eat instead? Broccoli is from the same family as cabbage, kale and cauliflower if you like any of those.

I tried some cauliflower that had some form of garlic oil on it. The cauliflower was bland enough and the garlic gave it some kick. I haven't tried kale. I'll grab a bit at the grocery store next time.

Broccoli is not really something i have to really choke down, but it's just not as good as the leafy veggies.

Sometimes a food does need something extra.

Have you ever tried roasting broc? Spritz raw broc with olive oil and drop it into a 425deg oven for 10-15 min. Great carmalization and great flavor. A few sprigs of thyme and you have the perfect side to your boiled chickem.

If you can find it, look for Vincotto. It is like a mild balsamic vinegar. Great stuff for veggies.

If you can't find it, some good balsamic will do the trick.

I got caesar and parmesan ranch. Since my diet is low-carb, I'm not sweating the fat.
