Default Iced Protein "Latte"

Not sure if we have seen something like this before, but just in case I have stumbled upon something new.

1 serving Vanilla whey protein
2 teaspoons instant coffee.
water

Shake together and pour over ice.

mmmm tasty.

Kill that latte craving without the milk sugar carbs.

Og.

Nice idea, Og.

Back when there was that shake contest, my goal was to emulate the DQ "Moolatte" but I couldn't come up with something creamy enough. Cottage cheese definitely doesn't work!

I managed to make a iced mocha with strong coffee (I recommend grinding the beans yourself), milk and chocolate whey protein powder. It's pretty tasty, but not a traditional shake.

With the moolatte type beverage. Couldn't we just blend the ice into the drink instead of using cubes?

You could blend the ice in there. I'm not a fan of adding ice to anything. I don't like how it melts and dilutes the drink. I don't even like ice diluting my water.

I finally figured to really emulate the thickness of a Moolatte requires ice cream. You could use fat-free or some such, but you don't need me to tell you that doesn't make it any healthier.

Yeah trade the saturated fat for processed carbs. Not worth it, even if I cared about the fat. The loss of flavor sucks ass. Maybe if they dropped the fat AND used splenda? That might make the calorie savings decent.

Otherwise....

Ice it is!

Maybe you could make your protein concotion of whey and coffee and freeze it in cubes and then blend those?

That might work! Can't make up a spontaneous batch that way, but it's worth a try. Thanks!!

Heh, my brother mixed his protein (that he says tastes like malted ass) with coffee and called it a malted ass-achino...

I mix my coffee with chocolate protein powder and ice, all the time. A packet of splenda makes it tasty.
