Default Black Cherry Chocolate Oatmeal

1 cup (dry) old fashioned oats
1/8 cup dried cherries
1 scoop Bavarian Chocolate Pro-Rated protein powder
1 packet Splenda

cook the oatmeal
stir in the cherries and powders
eat

Technically, I used dried cherries (no sugar added), not black cherries, but Cherry Chocolate Oatmeal doesn't sound as good...

In case you can't find the nutrition info for the cherries:

1/4 cup Dried Cherries provides:
136 calories, 1 g protein, 0 g fat, 27 g sugar, 1 g fibre, 30% DV vitamin A.

I only used about half of that portion. Plus, I get mine at Whole Foods, where they are JUST dried cherries, nothing else. Many have added sugar, so take the above nutrition as a worst case, just in case.

I'm glad to hear that Whole Foods sells dried cherries without added sugar. We are finally getting one of those here. I've always been frustrated that so many dried fruits are larded up with extra sugar.

When it opens, check out the bins. That's where they keep 'em. Careful, a lot of their stuff has added sugar.

At least they put the ingredients on the bins.
