What do you put in yours? I have discovered this awesome food and make batches every weekend now. But I want to know what you guys put in yours. I add a sprinkle of brown sugar or a dab of cinnamon. But I know there are better choices out there.
I do have some articles about them to read thhrough that I am sure have recipes but wanted to ask. Thanks.

Usually I use some Splenda and a bit of molasses, which substitutes for brown sugar (I don't think the brown sugar type Splenda is worth it) and a dollop of natural peanut butter.
New discovery: last week I was out of peanut butter. So I used almond butter instead. It was really good, but the flavor is much more subtle than with peanut butter.
A scoop of chocolate protein powder plus a spoonful of Splenda is good, too. Reminds me of having cocoa-wheats when I was a kid.

I cut up an apple into little chunks. I used to have a tool that pealed, cored, and spiral cut an apple, then I would wedge it. I left that tool in Little Rock when I was in town for the retreat. Now I just cut it up with a knife. But I put the chopped apple, some splenda, and a bunch of cinnamon in for some apple-cinnamon oatmeal. Real tasty.

I go the apple cinnamon route, as well. I just chop it up, peel and all, then add splenda and cinnamon.
We've got one of the spiral apple things. You must be quite the connoisseur, if you brought it to the retreat! Sorry you lost it.

The retreat was part of a 2 week vacation for me, so I figured it would be worth carying along. But now I just chop it up with the peel too. Doesn't seem to take any longer that way.
The best Oatmeal out there has to be the one i have everymorning for breakfast without fail. I use Oat groats that have been boiled and then simmered for 15-minutes the night before. In the morning add in a tablespoon of oat bran and then heat up for 4 or 5 minutes. Once hot take off the stove, add in some frozen berries, stir them through. Then a scoop of vanilla whey protien followed by a diced apple and some sulphur free dried apricots. what a sensational way to start the day!
Last Thanksgiving I had some extra pumpkin puree and I added that to my oatmeal with splenda and cinnamon and it became one of my favorites. I have also added the other pumpkin pie spices and it tastes just like pumkin pie filling just healthier. The pumpkin adds fiber and a serving of vegetables to your morning meal.
