Default The Tofu

Ok, over the last week I have been exprimenting with stirfrys and tofu.

Pretty much been using the following vegetables.

Zuchinni, Raddichio, carrots, celery, brocolli, jalapeno and garlic.

I took about 100 cals of tofu (1/4 of my package) and cut it up and stirfried it with the vegetables.

I have tried various spice combinations..First and second attempt were VERY spicy, little to much chilli pepper and I used curry paste as well.

Third was ok, nothing all that special.

Fourth try I added a little salt, some olive oil and some splenda, which I found added a pleasent sweet taste to the tofu. So in my opinion adding the sweetness to the dish was a great addition.

Just in case your planning on playing with tofu.

Og.

So, now you're 96 cals short. You're now in starvation mode. Doomed.

I agree. A little sweeter tastes better.

I stir fry tofu with bell peppers (all colours red, green, yellow) and thinly sliced onions. Ummm.

Marinate it in low sodium soy sauce, and then mix a little ketchup, balsamic and some hot sauce, and brush that on while you're sauteing the tofu, and it's pretty damn tasty. It's like a spicy steak sauce, but much better. Tastes really good on tempeh too.
