Neufchatel is still pretty rich. It has about 2/3 as much fat as cream cheese. It still has all the dairy carbs in it so even with the splenda it's not too far removed from ordinary cheesecake, in my opinion.
I think a better option might be a ricotta cheesecake made with Splenda, or perhaps TG's now famous "I can't believe it's not cheesecake"
