Strange idea to most Americans, but fruit soups are a summertime staple in northern Europe. Here's one recipe. Puree 3 cups of fresh blueberries and simmer for 15 minutes with 3 tbs water, 2 tbs sugar, and two sticks of cinnamon. Meanwhile dissolve 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin in cold water and stir into blueberries as they finish cooking. Add to a pint of fresh orange juice and 2 tbs lemon or lime juice. Stir in 2 cups of yogurt. Chill. Add two cups of blueberries and serve.
Or Google "blueberry soup" and you'll find many variations. It's blueberry season now... and the berries are loaded with beneficial phytochemicals, including some rumored by bears in the woods to be aphrodisiacs and enhancers of the ability to sing.
