I made this tonight for dinner and thought I would share the recipe with ya'. My 4-year-old even likes it so it can't be too bad

1 whole wheat pita, split open so you have 2 halves
3 tbsp hot barbecue sauce
5oz boneless skinless chicken breast, cooked and diced
1/4 cup sweet onion, diced
1/4 cup green pepper, diced
1/2 cup low-fat mozzarella

Spread barbecue sauce evenly over both pita halves. Top with remaining ingredients. Bake in 400degree oven for 10minutes.

Total cals 557(this is for both halves together)
Carbs 51g
Protein 60g
Fat 13g

Sounds great!

I make similar ones for me and the kids. I use low carb tortillas, instead. The ones I use (Don Antonio Low Carb) have only 45 calories, 7g carbs, 1g fat, 4g fiber, and 7g protein. Plus, they end up being a little sturdier than the split pitas.

My kids like 'em a lot.

That's a good idea to use the tortillas. I use the ones from LaTortilla Factory to make wraps sometimes. The pitas can be difficult to cup open sometimes. Thanks for the tip
