Mrs. Torque whipped up some awesome lettuce wraps tonight and they were soooo good, I thought I'd share her recipe.
Lettuce Wraps
¾ lb ground turkey/chicken
¼ cup chopped fresh basil or 1 Tablespoon dried
2T soy sauce (low sodium if desired)
2 T fresh lime juice
2 large garlic cloves, chopped
1 large jalapeno chili, chopped
1t sugar
1t garlic chili sauce or hot pepper sauce (Tabasco)
1T sesame oil or Vegetable oil
Boston Lettuce leaves
Chopped green onion (optional)
Roasted Peanuts (optional)
Combine first 8 ingredients in medium bowl and stir to blend well. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead. Cover and refrigerate.)
Heat sesame oil in heavy medium skillet over high heat. Add Turkey mixture and sauté until Turkey is just cooked through, breaking up clumps with back of spoon., about 4 minutes. Transfer Turkey mixture to platter. Arrange lettuce around edges: serve, passing onions and peanuts (and additional soy sauce) , if desired.
