Don't really know. I copied that out of the most recent Seafood Business publication and I guess that's what they wanted to promote or publicize.

My local Super Wal-Mart sells smoked salmon for prices that I believe are better than that. A similar price for a bigger chunk. Very good!

I confess that I buy and eat a lot of canned salmon these days. Much cheaper. I mix it with a canola mayonnaise for sandwiches or make salmon patties out of it.

I just bought a pouch of this at a Krogers here in Indy. It was around 3 bucks. I'll give it a taste test tomorrow and post my 2 cents worth on how it was.
