I work in an office and don't want to stock healthy snacks in the office fridge. I'm looking for ideas that I can bring to the office and keep either for the day or another day in my desk for quick access for my morning and afternoon snacks. The obvious protein bars get boring after awhile.

Wow - I work in an office myself; the downside is I have to sell my soul on a daily basis - the upside is I get all the free bottled water I want and access to a fridge!
How come you can't store stuff in there? I bring in a bag every day with cottage cheese, tuna fish, and a peanut butter sandwich....

I bring lunch and have access to the fridge and water, I was just trying to find some ideas for quick snacks that I can make as a change from yogurt, fruit, protein bars and shakes. Things that don't require refridgeration.

I keep assorted nuts in my drawers....also oatmeal, some reasonably healthy popcorn, turkey jerky, and a henway.

nuts are good; I have unroasted almonds and low sodium dry roasted peanuts. I get a few apples once or twice a week to keep in my drawer, too, usually with a small thing of peanut butter. I've got some carrots, too, but I keep those in the fridge, so you may want to skip that. I live close enough to work that I can go home for lunch; a lot of times I'll bring back some cottage cheese for a late afternoon snack, but there's the fridge thing, again. Although, in that case, it's just keeping it in there for the afternoon in a rubbermade container, not really stocking the fridge.

I make a 'trail mix' with unsalted almonds, walnuts, and then a few dried cranberries. It fills me up pretty good. I also have cans of tuna, which are pretty quick (make sure you have some gum for after though)...

Okay, okay, I'll bite what's a henway?
And make sure you do your research on this one. I've eaten chicken breasts that are a full pound before.

Don't forget the fruit. No protein, but plenty of useful micronutrients and fiber to keep all the protein moving along.

Are you still having problems with that co-worker grabing a handful of your nuts when you're not looking ?

I have some of those small cans of tuna with the pop-top, jerky, protein bars, almonds, and such in the drawer at my desk. PB sandwich will hold up with out refrigeration..

This might be too obvious, but could you bring a lunch bag/box/cooler? If your office is air conditioned, you could most likely keep most refridgerated items. I use a small frozen artificial ice-pack and it does a great job!
I've also found that most fresh veggies will keep without refridgeration for the day. Celery, carrots and cucumbers do quite well.

I get so much crap from everyone at my office cuz I bring a lunch box. I don't care, it's great. I'm always at a different client site, so I don't have a desk or anything of the sort to keep food in. A lunch box is kinda dorky, but I don't care, when I bust out clean food, everyone thinks I'm even weirder and forgets about my lunchbox...

I get crap too about from my coworkers for bringing my own lunch..."even on fridays!" Then they always comment on my "healthy" eating. The thing is for a snack they always run to the vendy machine and eat junk like ritz cheese crackers, fried spicy chips, etc. Little do they know what I am thiking about their eating habits (evil laugh)

I'll second that comment, RipStone.
Not only does bringing your own lunch allow you to eat healthier, but for those with a tighter wallet, its much less expensive too.
I too bring in a soft-sided cooler for my lunch and snacks.
I keep a bag of peanuts and sunflower seed kernels at my desk at all times.
Everyone else...they just don't know (or care for that matter)
