High Protein Granola Bars

Protein+Carb

2 cups raw oat bran
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup egg whites
1 cup vanilla soy milk
1.5 cups honey
2 cups chocolate whey protein powder
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon

Mix it all together in a big bowl, then spread it out on a large nonstick cooking tray. Spray the tray with Pam, or wipe a little olive oil on it with a paper towel. Bake for 30 minutes @ 350 degrees, or until the top gets light brown and the sides start separating from the pan.

Cut into 10 pieces:

Each bar:

Total Calories: 471
Fat: 5 g
Carbs: 78 g
Fiber: 7 g
Protein: 27 g

*Correction on the Granola Bar recipe...

That should read 1/4 teaspoon of salt

This looks really delicious. Have you actually tried it? I am curious how it is going to turn out. Seems like a great quick breakfast meal for me to have ready. Thanks again.

Yup, I'm eating one right now as I type this message. They're more like a cake than a bar, but yummy nonetheless. Just be sure to chase them with a lot of water, to allow the whey to be absorbed.

They're great warm, with a little splenda and cinnanom sprinkled over top.

If you're ballz-out bulking and don't care about mixing fat with simple carbs, I would suggest adding a melted stick of butter and crushed pecans (or peanut butter) into the mix before baking...drool.
