Default Uploading photo from my computer?

I found out how to upload a link or url from your help faq.

But, I seem only to be able to upload an "attachment" from my computer, and then it shows as a thumbnail at the bottom of the message. The best I could do, was then have that attachment ALSO show up as a large photo in the message, but I'd like to see the large photo without the little thumbnail attachment below.

Thanks for instructions.

The best way is to have your picture hosted on a website.
If you don't have your own space, you can go to one of the free photosharing sites like photobucket or imageshack. once you upload your photo to the sharing site, you will get the URL.

Once you have the URL (on the clipboard please) - come back here, make your post and use the icon with the mountain and the sun/moon - and paste in the URL.

Be sure it's the pic's url, not the page you view with other stuff. You can either right click (or the equivalent) on the picture and "copy image location" or right click and "view image" (which will make the image the only thing on the page, at the top left) and then select and copy the url in the address bar of your browser window.

You can also try flickr, for pics.

So is there no way to upload a photo if it only resides on my computer, not on flickr or another webpage?

thanks, Etana

You get the thumbnail.

I find it easiest to just get a free account somewhere and upload to there, and link to it wherever I want. Also lets me remove an image and have it gone everywhere, giving me complete control over who sees mah stuffs.
