Default Images disappearing

Maybe it's just me, but it seems that my last couple posts that included the image tags have lost the images, namely here and here. I checked the HTML by hitting "reply," but it wasn't in the quoted text, either. Is it on my end? Please let me know if more info is needed. Thanks.

I don't know what happens in all cases, but in some it's simply a matter of if you're allowed to view an image. Either on your end or the images' end. The common way for people to post images is to link to them, basically, so that we're just using the forum to peer at them from their original location.

As far as I know, any images actually uploaded do not have this problem, because you upload them to JPs servers.

Anyway, sometimes the image goes away, sometimes the server won't let you link to them from elsewhere, sometimes your filter/firewall/etc at work blocks certain sites that the images may be on. Since they're linked in a certain way, there's no error messages or anything if you're banned from seeing/linking them or they go away.. they simply don't show up.

I know there's other reasons too, but that's one of the main problems I've had in the past.

I know it depends on which computer I'm on. If I'm on my home computer generally I can see everything, if I'm on a work computer, there's some things I can't see because they have the site blocked.

The sites you are trying to load those images from do not allow hotlinking. Try copying the image to a photobucket or imageshack account and hotlinking from there.

Picasa doesn't allow hotlinking?
